This notice explains how VBA LLC ("we", "us") handles personal information in Kinlendar. VBA LLC is the data controller for the information described here.

Information we collect and why

  • Account details (name, email, sign-in credentials): to create your account and let you sign in. Basis: providing the Service (contract).
  • Family content (events, lists, birthdays, notes, recipes, trips, contacts, photos): to show it to you and your family members. Basis: contract.
  • Notification settings (time zone, device alert tokens): to send reminders you ask for. Basis: contract and consent.
  • Usage and device data (IP address, browser type, logs): to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and fix problems. Basis: legitimate interests.
  • Support messages: to answer your questions. Basis: legitimate interests.

Payment card details are collected by Paddle, not by us.

Who we share it with

  • Members of your family space, who can see shared family content.
  • Service providers who host our app, store data, send emails and deliver phone alerts.
  • Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for selling subscriptions, managing payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants.
  • Authorities, when required by law.

We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account or family, we delete or anonymize your data within 90 days, unless we must keep it longer by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Email us to make a request and we will respond within one month.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls that keep each family's data private, and private photo storage.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential browser storage to keep you signed in and remember settings like the collapsed menu. We do not use advertising cookies.

Children

Family accounts are managed by adults. Children may appear in family content added by their parents or guardians.
